After a recent edcuational Safari experience in to the Masa Mara northern section where the crossings take place during the great migration , I have located the perfect Great Migration Safari camp, and this camp is my prefferred Northern Masai Mara Safari camp.
A private conservancy right next to the main Masai Mara , a wide expansive aera of rolling hills, the perfect location to see the great migration and to experience your Kenya Safari. As well its part of the new 30,000 acre Olare Orok Conservancy on the boundary of the Masai Mara National Reserve is an intriguing new conservation and land-use initiative that is now just three years old and is set to become the blueprint for a sustainable Mara. Until recently, these 30,000 acres of prime rolling grasslands and riverine forest were filled with rural homesteads and large herds of cattle and goats. Today, the homesteads, cattle and goats have relocated and the conservancy has become a magnet for big cats, offering some of East Africa’s finest year-round game viewing. The Conservancy has created a win-win for both the Maasai land owners and for the wildlife of the Mara eco-system. Today, the Maasai people earn guaranteed monthly income from their land all year, regardless of how few tourists have visited the area. Visitors to the Olare Orok Conservancy have the best possible wildlife viewing away from the crowds. This Conservancy now offers a premium wildlife experience, with a strict minimum density of at least 700 acres per tent and has banned its camps from using mini-buses. Nature walks and night game drives, activities which are not possible in the Masai Mara reserve are additional activities offered in the Olare Orok Conservancy. Sometimes in a Safari camp everything just clicks ie food, guides, interior design, staff service, game viewing , camp managers and owners, location....this East Africa Masai Mara safari camp has it all , and is the the place to experience the great Masai Mara Safari Migration . 2 camps, seperated by a river, a mobile tent camp, with en suite bathrooms, right close by to where the crossings take place, game viewing in private jeeps, insread of the small pop up vehicles, masai mara guides, a hillside hide where you can sleep over, about 30 to 45 minutes walk from the main camp, ..enough said. As to the game vieiwng, the best single day game viewing I have had and that includes lots and lots of Safari's in South Africa, Botswana , Zimbabwe, and Zambia..and that was not during the migration time either. Let the photos speak for them selves..I think you will get it River side tents The Mara, is the northernmost extension of the Serengetti and a gem in itself.
