Cooke’s African Safaris

Cooke’s African Safaris (Konkamoya) is a family run safari lodge situated on the banks of Lake Itezhi-Tezhi in the southern regions of the unspoilt Kafue National Park. Rustic, but charming, the lodge is all about embracing nature and the location ensures a stunning safari adventure.

Game viewing is done in an open vehicle, by foot or by boat. Fly Camping is the most exciting way to see the bush, and life doesn’t get better than fishing at Konkamoya, or how about an exciting canoe safari?

Their is a unique elephant sanctuary close by can be visited, as well as the local fisherman who live on the lake Islands  can be visited.

Accommodation
Konkamoya consists of just three chalets, sleeping six people and thus ensuring a very personal experience.

Activities

Game Drives:  Game viewing is done in open, comfortable four wheel vehicles and conducted by a qualified guide.

Night Drives: Leave camp in the afternoon for a game drive and sundowner and continue into the night for an unforgettable experience of the nocturnal African bush.

Walking Safaris: For the energetic this is by far the best way to see the bush.  Learn about tracking; see the exciting life of insects and other small mammals usually missed on the game drive, or come up close to a herd of elephants.  All walks are taken by a qualified guide and armed game scout.

Fly Camping: Probably the most exciting and environmentally friendly way to see the bush.  Excellent service, good food and drink with a promise of Africa at her best.

Fishing: Life doesn’t get better than this…. Relax with a fishing rod and watch the world go by.  With fifty eight species of fish, there will always be one to come back for!

Canoe Safaris: Feel the thrill of gently floating on the lake while elephants wallow.  Hear the cry of the fish eagle as it soars high above.

Sundowners and Game Drives by Boat: Watch the sunset with drink in hand and experience the night sounds as the day draws to a close and the night come to life.
