The trip was a great success. Flying business class for me was well worth it. Our time in Johannesburg was very nice - the jacarondas were in full bloom. We were able to go to Soweto and the Cradle of Humankind and eat at some nice restaurants in Nelson Mandela Square.
All of the arrangements you made came off without a hitch. A very nice man met us at the PE airport for the ride to the Phantom Forest.
I'm not sure I would stay there again but the others LOVED it.
I felt like I couldn't find my way from the room to the main dining area and back without getting lost!
We had a great meal there, though, and enjoyed the room very much.
Jamie Whitehouse picked us up from there - he was a great tour guide and we enjoyed spending three days with him.
He brought us to Cape Town - on the way, we stopped at a gas station just outside of George and ran into a couple friends of ours who, unbeknownst to us had just moved to Cape Town!
Cape Town is very cosmopolitan. The apartment was nice (the view wasn't great). The Robben Island trip went well after we finally figured out the tickets were in your local travel agent's name.
We were able to get up to the top of Table Mountain despite the wind!
We loved Camps Bay! As soon as we got there, we knew we wanted to stay there for three nights rather than two and made the arrangements with your local office and directly with the company that managed the Seagull View apartment. That meant one less day in the winelands which ended up to be fine.
We also really liked Hermanus - next time I'd try to stay closer to town but the Lavender Manor is first class. We had an especially nice last day when we drove all around False Bay to the Cape of Good Hope. We had great weather the whole time and found the country very affordable.
Thanks for your guidance and for making all the arrangements for the trip - it was a grand success for all of us.
