"We must use time wisely and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right"
...Nelson Mandela

May 09 from Switzerland

Hi Stephen:

Thanks for checking in. The trip was amazing. Thanks so much for setting it all up. The planning was efficient and everyone was helpful and charming and seemed to take a lot of pride in their work.

Bijoy and I wanted to let you know was that we should have taken your earlier suggestion of where to stay in Capetown.

The Twelve Apostles is beautiful but the level of dedication and service does not compare with, for instance, Klein Genot.

For example, we were leaving Klein Genot at 6 in the morning. And at 5:30 someone knocked at our door and brought us a wonderful breakfast.

On the other at Twelve Apostles, on the last day we were at the V&A Waterfront and wanted the shuttle to pick us up. We were told the shuttle left every 30 minutes from there and that were to call when we were ready for a pick up. We called at 3:40 or so and expected the next one to be at 4:00. Instead it was at 4:30 for some reason.

We had to get back to make our airport pickup so we took a cab back instead. They didn't offer to send the shuttle at 4:00 or offer to send the hotel car for us. They did everything by the book and were very polite and pleasant but a place like Klein Genot went way beyond what we expected.

So the bar was set really high I suppose.  All your lodging suggestions were wonderful and memorable.

Blaauwbosch was spectacular as well. It was truly memorable and I feel as if my life is richer for have spent some time there. The staff there were truly personable, helpful, accomodating and friendly, and the place itself was beyond beautiful.

We didn't make it to the Saturday morning market. Instead we just went to the V&A waterfront and did some shopping.

That was the one day we didn't have to wake up early and since Bijoy had to be at work on Monday and we had a really long flight ahead of us we slept in a bit, then just went to the V&A for a couple of hours.

We were sorry to have missed the market....but perhaps next time.

I am blogging about my trip and will continue to do so

Thanks again for all your hard work and for really helping us with a wonderful vacation.
