"We must use time wisely and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right"
...Nelson Mandela

June 07 California family Botswana/South Africa
Our trip was absolutely perfect and my entire family has
pestered me to contact you and thank you for how well you planned the
trip for us. We loved the Elephant Valley lodge. They gave us the prime
tents you had requested overlooking the watering hole. I told Sean the
manager that based on the web site we would not have opted to stay there
but we had based on your recommendation. He said they had renovated in
the last year and they just hired a new marketing firm who is going to
reshoot the lodge and do a new website. But the staff was great, we
loved our guide, Obi, and it was a great location being just outside of
the park. So I am happy that I followed your advice.
All of the transfers went very smoothly with the guides meeting
us at the planes, etc, and Xanakaxa was fantastic. I have never been
anywhere as beautiful as the Okavango Delta. We had a great guide,
Ngande, who managed to site things we would never have seen on our own.
We followed a pride of lions as they closed in on a herd of buffalo and
we saw them again with a male present the next day after the herd had
left. We also saw a leopard and watched him make a kill which we later
learned was a rare citing. We saw plenty of giraffes, zebras,
wildebeests, impalas, kudus, bushbuks, waterbuks, baboons, warthogs,
elephants, pekus, ostriches, fishing eagles, vervet monkeys, hippos,
crocodiles and even several wild cats and a genet cat. So we were very
pleased.
Unfortunately, once we left for Africa, we were unreachable and
my computer was not working there so we never received your email re the
shark diving in Cape Town. When the driver arrived at 6am one morning,
everyone was asleep and we did not realize the trip had been confirmed.
So we did not go. But that was the only glitch and it was probably just
as well since one of my sons is deathly afraid of sharks.
I absolutely loved Africa Stephen and I can't wait to go
back...Maybe next summer? I would like to see Kruger, Namibia and/or
Kenya. Be sure that we will recommend your services to anyone we know
who gets out that way. Thanks again.
