SOUTH AFRICA SOCCER SAFARI PACKAGE

This  soccer safari package below is fully changeable to meet the needs of the group.

This package has a blend of Urban/ Rural/Cultural and a Safari.It can be changed to a more specialized focus say Aids education in conjunction with  Soccer games, it can be upgraded to a higher level for the semi professional teams, it can be shortened and or lengthened in duration.

The South Africa Cultural portion can be expanded to make it more educational, it can be lessened to give the participants more  general free and touring time.

The South Africa Safari component can be lengthened, shortened,changed to a more traditional overland trip,etc.

If we need to bring the rate down, we can look at doing the Safari at another location, shorten the trip, etc. The trip is flexible to meet the needs of the group.

I will travel with the group, so I can advise re things to do, activities, etc. As well , we will have other local guides with us.

Group rates....since their is a wide array of options, once  we establish a trip outline , I can then rate it. I can work within a specific budget  to accommodate budget travel, we well as expand it out to incorporate other higher rated experiences ie Victoria Falls, Botswana Safari, etc.

For Adult Soccer Clubs, if I receive 11  or so responses  from different Individuals I will then coordinate this to get a itinerary  and a rate.

If the response is from a coordinator from a Club or University, I will work with that person to establish a itinerary  and a rate.   

 What effects  the rate:

Time of travel..Our Winter November  to March is the cheapest air time to travel, April to Mid May and September to end of October is the next cheapest, and mid May to September  are the highest air rates.

 Land Costs....Our Winter, is South Africa Summer, so land costs are higher, and our Summer  is  Winter so land costs  are lower.

Activities,level of lodging..South Africa has a very sound Lodging infrastructure from youth hostels to Luxury hotels. Its Lodging inustry is geared more to tourist travellers than  the USA  and as such,is highly reulated. A Country does not get awarded the World Cup without having the proper infrastructure to support such an event.

Day 1
 
 On arrival at Cape Town International Airport you will be met by our Tour representative and assisted with your luggage.

Follow the representative to the vehicle which will transfer you to the hotel situated 25 minutes from the airport.

After checking into your hotel, we leave for a City Tour.

Explore Cape Town, one of the worlds most beautiful and cosmopolitan cities, cradled in the amphitheatre formed by Table Mountain, Lions Head and Devils Peak. Weather permitting, we undertake a cable car ride to reach the summit from where one has the perfect 360º view of the fairest Cape in the world. 

 The Castle of Good Hope is our next stop followed by the Malay Quarter, also referred to as the Bo-Kaap which is an extremely colourful area and reminds one of the Mother City’s days gone by.

Walk through the Dutch East India Company Gardens before ending at Cape Town’s link with the sea, the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront which offers a wide variety of entertainment, present-day shops and restaurants to enjoy in Victorian style.

 Day 2
 
 After a leisurely breakfast, we depart for our Full Day Tour of the Cape Peninsula. An exploration along the peninsula coastline to enjoy some of the most inspiring scenery South Africa has to offer, with the main feature being the spectacular Cape Point and the historical Cape of Good Hope. 

Cape Point - Two oceans meet - Cape Town

The road we follow hugs the coastline with the formidable Table Mountain and the 12 Apostles mountain range close on our one side and the vast South Atlantic on the other. Our tour includes an optional stop at Mariners Wharf, the original Waterfront of Cape Town, for an optional boat cruise to Duiker Island. Travelling through the quaint holiday and residential villages of Kommetjie and Scarborough, we enter the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, rich in historical significance and offering an abundance of natural beauty.

A visit to the Boulders Beach introduces you to the charming Penguin Colony, all of them dressed in their tuxedo outfits. Simon’s Town’s long and illustrious naval heritage is visible everywhere in this town; including the statue of Able-seaman Just Nuisance, the only dog ever to be officially enlisted as a member of the Royal Navy. We stop off for lunch at Seaforth Restaurant.

We return via the southern Suburbs and if time allows you can stretch your legs with a walk through the Kirstenbosch Gardens before returning to the hotel.

Day 3
  
 After a leisurely breakfast, we depart for our day in the Townships, remember to pack your Soccer kit as today we play the local team of Khayelitshia in a friendly.

Cape Town - one city; many cultures. Highlights include an insight into the past and post 1994 progress; visiting projects which are helping previously disadvantaged communities develop and building a better life for all; an insight into another side of Cape Town with focus on job creation via community based initiatives and a lunch stop at Vicky’s B&B.

Finally we end the day with an afternoon Soccer Friendly(mentioned above).

 Day 4
  

 This is a day at leisure – time to explore Cape Town and its surrounds. Enjoy a day on the beach, which there are absolutely beautiful beaches in Cape Town,  or visit Cape Point. If the weather allows a trip up Table Mountain is a must. Don’t forget the shopping in the V and A Waterfront and for those interested in the history of South Africa there is a boat ride to Robben Island available.Enjoy the drum cafe, group African drumming, explore the many art and craft markets, hang out and listen to some jazz, many options.

 Day 5
  
 After breakfast, check out of your room. We make our way to Mossel Bay on the Cape Garden Route along the scenic N2. Upon arrival we check into the hotel, freshen up and stretch our legs prior to an enjoyable Soccer Friendly and Braai with the local Mossel Bay Team.

 Day 6
 After an early morning wake-up call, we check out and depart for George to board the 09:30 departure of the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe to Knysna. This train journey will take you along one of the most spectacular coastal routes until finally you travel over the Knysna Lagoon and arrive at the Knysna Waterfront. Here you will enjoy an afternoon cruise on the lagoon before checking into your hotel.

 Revive the luxury of the bygone era in Knysna's newest 3 star timber log hotel.  The Graywood hotel was opened in late 2004 after extensive renovations to upgrade all the rooms and facilities.  The Graywood hotel now offers guests 49 tastefully decorated en-suite bedrooms. The Hotel keeps in line with the character and spirit of the surrounding indigenous Knysna forests with its amazing woodwork.  It also has a fascinating steam train theme, and is decorated with many original railroad memorabilia and historic photographs.

The Graywood Hotel is very centrally located in the middle of town and ideally situated for sight seeing.  The Hotel is within easy walking distance to the Knysna Quays (better knows as the Knysna Waterfront).  The Choo-Tjoe station, with its quaint steam locomotives, is 300 m away, as are the ferries to the Heads and the Featherbed Nature Reserve.  
 
 
Day 7
 
After a leisurely breakfast we depart for the Tsitsikamma Forest. We enjoy the scenic beauty and many photo opportunities and before turning back to enjoy a 3 hour Tree Top Canopy tour. The Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour is a unique eco-wilderness adventure that takes place in the magnificent Tsitsikamma indigenous rainforest.

********Along the way, we will stop of at the world highest bungy jump, to watch and you can jump or walk the bridge, if you like.

3 hour Tree Top Canopy tour

The first of its kind in Africa, the canopy tour involves traversing from one platform to another along a steel cable suspended up to 30 meters above the forest floor...

 Most platforms are located in giant Outeniqua Yellowwood trees. The scenery and bird life is spectacular and professional guides provide interesting facts about the forest ecology during the three-hour tour.

The concept of guiding people through the upper canopy of a rainforest originated in Costa Rica, where adventurous biologists devised new methods for accessing the forest canopy in order to conduct research on the undiscovered canopy ecosystem. The idea soon developed into a breathtaking form of eco-tourism which allowed people to enter and experience a previously inaccessible natural environment.

Construction of the Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour has been done in accordance with strict civil engineering standards. The system was designed and created by an adventurous civil engineer who constructed a similar canopy tour in Costa Rica. The safety standards have been significantly enhanced and the Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour uses state of the art equipment and has been rated as the most sophisticated of it's kind in the world. Concept to completion took fourteen and a half months.

The tour begins with a detailed safety briefing followed by a 'kitting up' session where full body harness, pulleys and climbing equipment is put on and checked. A short drive into the Tsitsikamma forest and it is time to monkey around!

From the start on the launch platform a new world unfolds as one gently glides on a steel cable to the first tree platform. All groups are escorted through the forest canopy by a lead guide and a follow guide to ensure your safety as you slide from tree to tree. The platforms, built high up in the giant Outeniqua Yellowwoods, provide an unbelievable view of this enchanting new world - any fear of heights is soon lost as you gather in your new surroundings...

Spend a couple of minutes relaxing while your guides enthusiastically explain the ecology of the forest - pointing out different trees and the magnificent giant ferns way below. The bird life is incredible. Knysna Loeries, sightings of the elusive Narina Trogon and the Samago monkey are not uncommon.

The Tsistikamma Canopy Tour consists of 10 platforms and 10 'fufi' slides, the longest of which is 100m! About three hours later you exit the forest, having undertaken the journey of a lifetime. You have contributed to the creation of new jobs and are helping the forest regeneration project.

 Day 8
 After breakfast we check out of our rooms and make our way through to Humansdorp where Zuks, our specialist guide for the Eastern Cape, will meet up with us. Here we will be greeted by Gumboot Dancers and a Lunch before a Soccer Friendly with the local Humansdorp Team. Afterwards we make our way through to Port Elizabeth for our overnight stop.

Humansdorp is 20 minutes away or so from Jeffries bay and Cape St Francis...world class surf beaks.

 After breakfast, check out of your room. We depart for East London via King Williams Town and stop off for a tour of historical British Settler City of Saints – Grahamstown. Upon arrival at the hotel, we check in and freshen up. You may spend the rest of the day at leisure

Day 10 
 
 After breakfast we depart for a tour of East London and then proceed to Mdantsane, the second largest township in the Southern Hemisphere after Soweto in Johannesburg. We visit their shopping centre, walk around and interact with the people and experience their day-to-day ways of living. After this we proceed to Mngqesha, the Great Palace of the King of Amaxhosa, here we enjoy a Soccer Friendly with the local team and return to the hotel afterwards.

Day 11
 
 After an early breakfast, we depart for our tour across the Kei River into the ex-Transkei homeland. We visit the home of Nelson Mandela in Qunu and also the town of Idutywa, home to President Thabo Mbeki. In Umtata we visit the Nelson Mandela Museum, popular for its collection of the gifts that Nelson Mandela received from all over the world.

Day 12
 
 After breakfast we say goodbye to Zuks, check out of our rooms and make our way through to Kariega Game Reserve. Upon arrival, check in and freshen up in time for afternoon tea and evening game drive, followed by dinner.
