SHONGOLOLO EXPRESS TRAINS Each train has its own bar, dining and accommodation carriages. As in any hotel, bedding and towels are provided and cabins are serviced daily. Cabins have ample storage space and closets are equipped with both hangers and shelving. All passenger compartments have hand basins and running water. Power is 220v AC and European plug adaptors are provided. In addition, there is an onboard laundry service. Rates are offered on a LIGHT level with a supplement for guests who wish to book the PLUS package The PLUS package includes: 1. Arrival transfer: airport - train 2. Departure transfer: train-airport 3. Accommodation on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis (15 nights) 4. A free choice of available Land Excursions (previously called "off-rail activities") (but still excluding the Specialised Activities)
The LIGHT package includes: 1. Arrival transfer: airport - train 2. Departure transfer: train-airport 3. Accommodation on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis (15 nights) 4. A choice of FIVE Land Excursions (previously called "off-rail activities"). The balance of these excursions can be bought on board the train. Clients can choose which FIVE land excursions they want included (but still excluding the Specialised Activities).

AS FROM JANUARY 2007, WE WILL HAVE COMMODORE SUITES ON THE AFRICA TRAIN - THIS CABIN TYPE WILL HAVE EN-SUITE BATHROOM FACILITIES, AIR-CONDITIONING AND HEATING - THE COMMODORE SUITES WILL REPLACE THE GOLD CLASS ON THE AFRICA TRAIN - PLEASE NOTE THAT THE COMMODORE SUITES WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE HERITAGE TRAIN FOR THE DR. LIVINGSTONE DEPARTURES ONLY
Types of accommodation: * Ivory - shared bathroom facilities & fan in compartment. * Gold - private bathroom facilities & fan in compartment (only available on the Heritage Train as from January 2007) * Commodore - private bathroom facilities, air-conditioning and heating in compartment (only available on the Africa Train as from January 2007) * Emerald - private bathroom facilities, air-conditioning in compartment & small lounge (only available on the Heritage Train) TRAINS: * The Africa Train will still be used for both the Dune and the Good Hope Adventure. * The Heritage Train will be used for the Southern Cross as well as for the Limited Edition series: Wildlife Focus and In the Tracks of Dr Livingstone. * A combined trainset of the Heritage Train and the Africa Train's Commodore class will be used for the Dar es Salaam trips (i.e. In the Tracks of Dr Livingstone) - for these two journeys only we will add the Commodore class to the Heritage Train and take all its Ivory class carriages off. All cabin types on these two trips will thus have their own shower and toilet (Gold, Commodore and Emerald).
