South Africa Painting Safaris |
This Painting Safari will be conducted by one of South Africas foremost artists.
Born in Kimberley, South Africa, Ian grew up on the family farm in the district. During these 'barefoot in the bush" days, he started drawing and painting at an early age, inspired by the immense open spaces and fascinated by the wild animals that were so much part of his life. After completing his school education at Grey College, he attended the Johannesburg School of Art from 1965 to 1968. Ian is now an accomplished and sought after artist and photographer and travels extensively in Southern Africa, often spending long periods alone in the remote parts of Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
It is here that he finds his greatest inspiration and these experiences and his love of wildlife and specifically the Kalahari is reflected in the sensitivity of his animal studies and landscapes. He regularly exhibits in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban and has had successful exhibitions in New York, Birmingham and sold at the prestigious auction of Wildlife Art held by Christie's of London.
