We leave Durban early and head South down the hibiscus coast to the diving mecca of Aliwal Shoal

Aliwal Shoal is a world famous scuba diving destination situated off the KZN South Coast in South Africa. The many diving options are varied and provide exciting and varied diving for all levels of diver.

Aliwal Shoal is a Scuba-diver's paradise and one of the world's top Scuba diving destinations. The Shoal itself is situated about 4 kilometers off the quaint holiday village of Scottburgh on the KZN South Coast.

There are numerous fantastic divespots on the shoal itself ranging from 12 to 30 meters and including drop-offs pinnacles and exciting deep-water wrecks.

Situated on KZN’s Maputaland Coast, this scuba diving resort has much to offer the traveling scuba diver. A wide variety of dives available including deep water drift and night dives. 
 
 One of Southern Africa's premier scuba diving vacation spots. With more than many tropical species of fish and dolphins, sharks, whale sharks and turtles found in the Indian Ocean waters off Sodwana Bay.  

A great variety of viewing is found on the various reefs, with hard corals, abundant life forms, and pinnacles, buttresses, caves and blow holes. Reef depths vary from a few meters to over 30 meters. Many reefs are found at 18 meters or less.

After breakfast. our destination is the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi National Park. The Park covers 52 000 acres of South Africa's finest bushland and is world renowned for its natural diversity and population of Rhino and other 'big 5' species. Here you will experience the African bush as it once was. 

On arrival, we check into 'Hilltop camp', situated at the top of a hill, with panoramic views of the reserve. We make our way out into the bush for our first game drive in search of the various game species that abound in this area. 

Your guide is highly experienced and has a thorough knowledge of the animal and bird species in the area. We enjoy a packed lunch at one of the 'hides' in the reserve.

After a lovely buffet dinner we relax and enjoy the sounds of the bush around the camp fire.

We wake early for a bush walk in the reserve. Accompanied by highly skilled trackers we head out into the veld. There is nothing to rival the early morning smell of the bush and the thrill of being on foot in this wild place. 

We return to camp for a hearty breakfast.

We leave Hluhluwe after breakfast and make for the historic town of Eshowe on our way back to Durban. We visit the old colonial era fort and enjoy the guided historic tour.

After that we head through to Shakaland, South Africa's premier cultural experience. Here we take in a cultural tour and an awesome display of dancing as well as enjoy the fantastic buffet lunch. 

Options include a visit to the Sangoma or faith-healer.

We make our way back to Durban and arrive at early evening.
