| | Day 1 |
Fly in to Johannesburg and fly to Kruger National Park. Pick up your rental car and do a short afternoon game drive before having a well-deserved early night.
| Day 2 |
Start off with an early morning drive. You will see lots of animals, almost certainly including at least one or two of the big five. Have a long leisurely lunch, followed by a nap and an afternoon game drive. Do an escorted night drive with the South African National Parks.
| Day 3 |
If you have sufficient time, add an extra day here. Otherwise, start off early, watching animals as you drive out of the park. Head off to the Cradle of Humankind and then do a half-day escorted tour, which will include an explanation of the palaeontological remains which have been found there.
| Day 4 | Return to Johannesburg and fly to Cape Town.
| Day 5 | Do a circuit of the Peninsula, visiting Table Mountain and Cape Point.
| Day 6 | Do an early morning trip to Robben Island and then head out to the winelands for an afternoon tasting tour.
| Day 7 | Tour the V&A Waterfront, go shopping, have a leisurely lunch and then fly home from Cape Town
