Day 01 SUN ARRIVE JOHANNESBURG On arrival at Johannesburg Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel located in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to discover or take one of our excursions. Overnight Rosebank Hotel bed and breakfast. Day 02 MON JOHANNESBURG/ MPUMALANGA Depart Sandton this morning for an excursion to Pretoria, South Africa’s Capital city. After lunch continue towards Mpumalanga, an area that possesses incredible natural wonders and an outstanding wildlife reserve. Overnight in the historic gold-mining village of Pilgrim’s Rest. Overnight Royal Hotel dinner, bed and breakfast. Day 03 TUE MPUMALANGA Today your full day tour includes exploring the village of Pilgrim’s Rest, God’s Window with its boundless view stretching across forested mountains and fertile plains, and the spectacular Blyde River Canyon. Continue to the Kruger Park, arriving at your luxurious lodge in time for sundowners in the heart of the African bush, and your first game-viewing opportunity. Day 04 WED MPUMALANGA An early morning game drive in your open safari vehicle in search of the "Big Five" (lion, rhino, elephant, lion, and buffalo) in this game park that ranks with the best in Africa. Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast/brunch and an early afternoon siesta before your dusk game drive Overnight Lion Sands River Lodge River Lodge Private Game Reserve full board. Day 05 THU MPUMALANGA/ SWAZILAND After your last game-viewing opportunity, depart for the tiny Kingdom of Swaziland, ruled by King Mswati III. Visit the Ngwenya Glassworks for a demonstration and hand made glass artefacts before stopping at one of the colourful markets known for their woven baskets, beadwork and carvings. Tonight you stay in the beautiful Ezulwini Valley. Overnight Royal Swazi Sun bed and breakfast. Day 06 FRI SWAZILAND/ ZULULAND This morning visit the Swazi Candle Making Factory to view some of its colourful artworks, before continuing south into Zululand through rugged country, where the Zulu huts dot the landscape. After lunch in Hluhluwe, proceed to your hotel for check in. This afternoon, relax at the pool, or enjoy the Zulu Kraal experience (included) with Zulu dancing and explore the many other aspects of Zulu life. For the more adventurous take an optional cruise up the river in search of hippo, or an open vehicle game drive. Overnight Zulu Nyala Game Lodge full board Day 07 SAT ZULULAND/ DURBAN A short drive further down the coast to Durban, takes us past huge sugar estates and the rolling hills of the North Coast. You arrive just before and your afternoon is at leisure to explore the multi-cultural city of Durban. Overnight Protea Hotel Edward bed and breakfast Day 08 SUN DURBAN/ PORT ELIZABETH/ KNYSNA Early wake up this morning, and transfer to the Durban Airport to connect your flight to Port Elizabeth (cost of flight not included). On arrival in Port Elizabeth set off down the Garden Route, travelling through the Tsitsikama Forest, Storm’s River Mouth and Plettenberg Bay, towards the romantic seaside resort of Knysna. Overnight Protea Hotel Knysna Quays bed and breakfast. Day 09 MON KNYSNA Today depart on a full day tour of Knysna. Your programme includes Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe between Sedgefield and George and a cruise on the Knysna Lagoon with a visit to Featherbed Nature Reserve with its spectacular view of the lagoon’s entrance to the ocean. Day 10 TUE KNYSNA/ OUDTSHOORN Drive through the spectacular Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn, know as the "Feather Capital" of the world because of its large ostrich industry and enjoy a tour of an ostrich farm. Visit the Cango Caves, regarded as one of South Africa’s foremost natural wonders. Overnight Rosenhof Country Lodge bed and breakfast Day 11 WED OUDTSHOORN/ HERMANUS/ CAPE TOWN Today travel via Calitzdorp, Barrydale and Swellendam, to the seaside village of Hermanus, a favoured breeding site of the Southern Right Whale. (June – November) A scenic drive via Sir Lowry’s Pass brings you t Cape Town in the later afternoon. This wonderful city, with the majestic Table Mountain as a backdrop, is one of the most beautiful in the world. Overnight Radisson Waterfront Hotel bed and breakfast Day 12 THU CAPE TOWN Depart on a full day tour of the Cape Peninsula, driving along the Atlantic seaboard, via Hout Bay where you may opt for a cruise to Seal Island, to view the playful creatures. Visit the Cape Point Nature Reserve and then stop to see the loveable penguins at Boulders Beach. Drive back to Cape Town through the village of Simon’s Town, with its illustrious naval history. Overnight Radisson Waterfront Hotel bed and breakfast Day 13 FRI CAPE TOWN Today you are taken on an exciting discovery of the famous Cape Winelands. Visit the quaint towns of Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, stopping along the way for wine tasting at well-known estates. Overnight Radisson Waterfront Hotel bed and breakfast Day 14 SAT CAPE TOWN/ FLIGHT BACK HOME Today is at leisure for you to discover the wonders of Cape Town. We suggest a visit to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront or a cable-car ride up Table Mountain. In the afternoon, transfer to Cape Town Airport for your onward flight home.
