 Zululand Safari Lodge is the larger of the two camps within Ubizane Wildlife Reserve and offers comfortable accommodation. The lodge consists of 20 fully serviced chalets.
Families and conference groups will love the relaxed atmosphere of this traditional African reserve with its dining boma, swimming pool for those sweltering Zululand days, and comfortable thatched rondavels looking up at the sweep of Ubizane Mountain. Full conference facilities are available for groups of up to 60.
Zululand Safari Lodge is the bigger of the two camps at Ubizane and offers comfortable accommodation in 20 African Style rondavels. The chalets all have en-suite bedrooms with ceiling fans. Rooms are serviced daily by housekeeping. CHILDREN'S POLICY Children are more than welcome at the Safari Lodge Safari Lodge although children 16 years and under are not allowed on Game Walks and children younger than 6 are not allowed on the open landrovers when visiting the HluHluwe/Imfolozi game reserve. Meals are served in the Boma around the camp fire or when the weather does not allow dinner is served in the restaurant overlooking the forest and waterhole. Join the rangers after dinner around the camp fire, telling their bush stories and discussing the days sightings The pan-African cuisine offers a variety of dishes in buffet style and usually includes a venison dish amongst the choices of meat dishes. The breakfast buffet includes traditional fare as well as an array of locally grown fresh fruits, yoghurts and health cereals. Lunch is an informal meal as most guests are out exploring the wonders of the area. For those who prefer to spend the day relaxing beside the swimming pool or with a book in our spacious lounge, a light lunch is available off the room service menu. Dinner- Summer : 19h30 Ubizane Wildlife Reserve boasts a variety of game, including white rhino, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, most species of antelope, and over 350 species of birdlife. You can view the game from the comfort of equipped game viewing land rovers, on foot for a more thrilling encounter or on horseback for a wonderfully unique experience. Adjacent to Ubizane Wildlife Reserve is the renowned Hluhluwe / Umfolozi Game Reserve, the oldest in Africa, where the big-5 (lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard) roam the bush.
GAME DRIVES: Game viewing in open game viewing vehicles is usually reserved for the early mornings and late afternoons when the animals become more active after sheltering in the shade of the bush during the heat of the day. FOOT SAFARIS: Those looking to get really close to nature can embark on foot with a trained game ranger to see the wonders of the African bush close up. The foot safaris are ideal for all and give guests the opportunity of truly experiencing the African bush.
HORSEBACK SAFARIS: For novice and experienced horseman the horseback safaris add a whole new dimension to game viewing. The wildlife seem totally at ease with the horses and guests have an opportunity of getting close up to the game.
