Classical Kruger National Park

Classical Kruger SA3 Code At

On this short tour we include the main attractions of the northern and eastern parts of the country, visiting Pretoria, the administrative Capital of South Africa and then traveling through the lush countryside of Mpumalanga on the Panoramic Route to the dramatic escarpment. Accommodation is available in two private game reserves near the Kruger National Park with the possibility of plenty of game viewing before returning to Johannesburg.

Day 1 - Pretoria

You will be collected by your guide at Johannesburg International Airport or in Sandton, Johannesburg. We start by doing a short City Tour of Pretoria, seeing the Voortrekker Monument and the Union Buildings. We then head for the African bush, travelling in an easterly direction past gold and coal mining towns such as Lydenburg as we make our way to our overnight stop in Dullstroom.

Day 2 - Mpumalanga/Kruger National Park

In the morning we take the Panoramic Route through Mpumalanga and the magnificent Drakensberg. We look out across the Blyde River Canyon and the Lowveld through "God 's Window" on the edge of the escarpment. We visit Bourke 's Luck Potholes, the small gold-prospecting town of Pilgrim 's Rest and see some of the waterfalls in the area. We spend the night in a small and very charming tent camp, which differs from similar places in size and exclusivity, offering guests a top quality wilderness experience and excellent game viewing. After lunch we join the afternoon game drive in open 4x4 vehicles, returning in the early evening in time for dinner at the fireside. All tents have private facilities and their own terraces.

Day 3 - Kruger National Park

We awaken to the sound of the beating drums. Tea/coffee with rusks is served in the tents. We then embark on an early morning game drive accompanied by a tracker and ranger, returning in time for breakfast. After this outing you can relax at the swimming pool, or accompany a guide on a foot safari. At the hide near the camp you can watch the wildlife passing by. In the late afternoon you have the opportunity to join another game drive to catch a glimpse of elusive nocturnal animals. Dinner awaits you on your return.

Day 4 - Hazyview

After a last game drive and breakfast we leave the bush behind us as we make our way to the next overnight stop. We can either drive through the Kruger National Park to see more animals, or pass through the Drakensberg and enjoy more of the spectacular scenery. In the afternoon we make our way to Hazyview to a small private game reserve with a variety of lovely walks. We spend the night there.

Day 5 - Johannesburg

We make our way back to Johannesburg, and you are dropped off either in Sandton or at the airport in the late afternoon.
