With authentic buffalo dung walls, Camp Shawu paints a picture of the ‘real Africa’ described by famous explorers of colonial times. Private decks overlooking the Mpanamana Dam, present a masterpiece of an African landscape.
Location: - A satellite camp belonging to the Shishangeni Lodge, Camp Shawu is situated in a 15,000ha private concession in the south-eastern section of the world-renowned Kruger National Park in South Africa.
Accommodation: - The Camp can accommodate 10 guests in 5 very large rooms overlooking the Mpanamana dam. All are luxuriously equipped with romantic ball and claw bath, mini bar, sitting area facing open fireplace, ceiling fans and outside shower. A large verandah with reclining chairs and umbrella is the perfect spot from which to watch the game come down to drink.
Facilities: - The central facility consists of a lounge, indoor and outdoor dining area as well as a splash pool. Voltage: 220V
Activities: - With an emphasis on walking trails, guests can experience a typical old-fashioned safari first-hand. Safaris in open 4WD vehicles are also available.
Child policy: - Camp Shawu welcomes children of all ages and child-care is available upon request. In the interest of personal safety, children under 6 years are unfortunately not allowed on game drives and only those over the age of 12 years are permitted on game walks.
Communication: - The Camp is in radio contact with Shishangeni Lodge. No telephone or facsimile communication from the camp.
