Kruger:Sabi Sands Game Reserve and Lodges

sabi sands game reserve, kruger national park

 Sabi Sands Game Reserve:

The Sabi Sands Game Reserve is undoubtedly the most exclusive private game reserve in South Africa. The 65,000-hectare Sabi Sands Game Reserve is located on the south-western corner of the Kruger National Park. There are no restricting fences between the Kruger Park and Sabi Sands and the wildlife roams freely between the two game reserves.Because there are no fences, the animals can wander between the two as they please and as they once did across vast stretches of grazing land.

Your Wildlife Safari cannot be complete without exposure to every facet of life in the bush. Leopards are a main attraction of the Sabi Sands Game Reserve and are so accustomed to cars that they do not take much notice of them. Even when hunting, a leopard in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve will not mind a vehicle following it, even if this means following it off-road though the bush.

Approximately 300 species of bird have been observed in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve including a diversity of summer migrants. A variety of snakes, lizards and tortoises and other reptiles have also been seen, mainly during the summer months.

Some of the best and most exclusive private game lodges in the country are in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve and the chances of seeing the Big 5 animals (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino) are excellent. Access to the lodges is by vehicle or via a short flight from Johannesburg into the area airport, or some Sabi Sands Lodges have direct flights from Johannesburg.

The Links below are of selected private Lodges in the Sabi Sands area, that borders ie has  aunfenced border with the Kruger National Park

I have categorized as Moderate or First Class/Deluxe.

All Kruger National Park and Sabi Sands Safari Lodges have the same packages ie Full Board ie All Meals and Game Drives Inlcuded. Some offer bush walks, local village visits, and other extras, depending on the Lodge.

Private Sabi Sands game drives, Sabi Sands bushwalks or walking safaris, and child care, can be prearranged.

If you have a interest in special theme trips such as wild dogs, rhino conservation darting, leopard research, we offer those trips as well, follow this link for Kruger National Park and or Sabi Sands
