Samburu - Tree Lodge Mountain Lodge - Lake Naivasha - Masai Mara
An ideal safari for those short of time or who do not want to spend too long on safari, but who still want to experience as much of the country as possible. It therefore involves a fair amount of driving within a relatively short time, but like on all our other safaris we use good lodges and comfortable minibuses.
Day 1 - Samburu
You will leave Nairobi in the morning after breakfast and proceed to Samburu arriving at your lodge in time for lunch. Relax and spend the rest of the afternoon game watching. The area around the life-giving Uaso Nyiro River, is home to the rare and beautiful species of Northern Kenya such as Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk gazelle and the Somali ostrich. Elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and other plains game are also abundant here. Overnight at Samburu Intrepids.
Day 2 - Samburu
Spend a full day in Samburu with morning and afternoon watching game. All meals at the lodge. Overnight at Samburu Intrepids.
Day 3 - Mountain Lodge
After breakfast, continue to Mountain Lodge, a Tree Lodge situated deep in the forest on the slopes of Mt Kenya. Throughout the day and night forest animals visit the waterhole and saltlick, ensuring you many exciting moments. Arrive in time for lunch. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Serena Lodge.
Day 4- Lake Naivasha
After breakfast drive to your lodge situated on the shores of Lake Naivasha, probably Kenya's most beautiful fresh water lake built on the edge of Lake Naivasha, in beautiful grounds with green acacia shaded lawns and bright flower beds. Afternoon at leisure. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Rift Valley Lodge.
Day 5 - Masai Mara
Continue across the floor of The Great Rift Valley, the longest rift in the crust of the earth, to the Masai Mara. You will spend two days in this natural paradise among zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, buffalo, elephant, antelope and gazelle. You will encounter prides of lion resting in the shade of acacia trees or lying low in the grass in wait for their next meal. There is a good chance of spotting cheetah and if you are lucky, the shy leopard.
Lunch, dinner and overnight at Siana Springs.
Day 6 - Friday - Masai Mara
Spend early morning and afternoon game viewing with lunch and a siesta at your lodge. In the evening it is time for a refreshing drink and a well-deserved shower before dinner. Overnight at Siana Springs.
Day 7 - Nairobi & Onward Flight
After breakfast return to Nairobi arriving at midday. Leave for the airport to catch your next flight.
