Real city tour (Port Elizabeth Social History/Township Day Tour)
| Tourists to South Africa often find it hard to believe they are in an African country. In spite of the new free South Africa, the divisions of the past still linger and we seek to remedy that by bridging the gap |

Original 19th Century English Settler homes
- The main shopping thoroughfare where street traders sell their wares
- The building where Steve Biko was interrogated before his fateful
journey to death
- Kwazakhele, Zwide and New Brighton townships to experience a slice of African life
- Red Location, the oldest township in South Africa
- A community run school for children in the township. By taking the Real City Tour you directly help fund this school
- Encounter the legendary African hospitality when we stop for a township-style tea in one of the community run projects we support
- Meet talented township artists at work in Ramaphosa Village, an informal settlement, where wonderful works ranging from paintings, to lino prints, pottery and woven wall hangings are on display

Shebeen tour ( “For a fun African night out” )
Where there’s a township, there’s a Shebeen! These previously outlawed establishments are the vibrant, pulsing heart of the community where locals meet for a drink and often music and dancing too. The Township version of “the local” is an essential part of social life where people gather to enjoy themselves.
Enjoy a fun evening out and meet the locals when we take you to our pick of venues where the throbbing music is the best of Africa. Experience African hospitality at its finest as you tuck into a traditional dinner, enjoy the laid back vibe and drinks that are outrageously cheap!
