Monday morning depart with Air Malawi for Johannesburg to arrive around midday.

A typical schedule for the Island Breakaway is as follows:

Friday:

After a familiarisation and safety briefing on the beach at Cape Maclear, hit the water for the paddle to either Domwe Island Camp or Mumbo Island Camp (takes one to two hours). Spend two nights in the Island Camp.

Sunday:

Paddle from the Island Camp back to the mainland, followed by the transfer back to the lodge.

The only other fixed items on the agenda are three wholesome meals a day, which are timed to fit in with any other activities that may be taking place. In between there is a choice of sea kayaking, snorkeling, SCUBA diving, swimming, walking, bird watching or simply relaxing in a shady hammock.

Club Makokola offers various watersports on the lake, a round of golf, or simply lazing by the pool.
