Cape Sidecar Adventures’ fleet consists of 25 classic Changjiang CJ750’s, a version of the German 1938 BMW R71 sidecar, manufactured for the Chinese Red Army between the mid 1950’s and the mid 1970’s.

Catering for groups of up to 50 passengers, our qualified, fully licensed, tour guides/chauffeurs will transport guests on a variety of itineraries from short transfers to full day tours around the Western Cape.

Ideal for overseas or local tour groups, special events, incentives, corporate teambuilding activities or just having fun with the family or a group of friends.

Depart from Cape Town around the back of Table Mountain & head through the beautiful suburbs of Newlands, Constantia & Bishopscourt towards the eastern-seaboard of the Peninsula. At the False Bay coastline, travel through Muizenberg and Simonstown with a stop at Boulder’s Beach to visit the Penguin Colony. After the penguins, head past the Cape Point Nature Reserve (Optional Lunch stop) and onto the seaside villages of Scarborough and Kommetjie.

From Kommetjie onto Noordhoek and then marvel as you travel through the Chapman’s Peak coastal Drive. This section is subject to the road being open. The alternative is over Ou Kaapse Weg and through the Constantia Valley to reach the coast again at Hout Bay.

The final leg of the tour leaves Hout Bay along the Atlantic Seaboard to Camps Bay, Clifton and Bantry Bay and then into the city of Cape Town.



Self-Drive Option (Casual rentals)
Self-Drive rentals are available for licensed drivers who wish to explore the Western Cape at their own pace. Rentals start with a full day option & include weekend & overnight specials for those intrepid explorers who just can’t get enough.

Self-Drive option (Multi-day outings)
We also offer 4, 7 & 12 day guided tour packages for groups (minimum 5 sidecars).

If you’re in possession of a valid big-bike driver’s license (RSA or International) & you’re over 21 years old, you’re eligible.

Insurance & Safety
All our sidecars are fully insured for both passenger liability (R10m cover) and public liability (R5m cover). Additional General Accident cover is available at a small daily premium.
