Day 2 - Sevilla Trail and Oudrif

This morning you cross the scenic Pakhuis Pass amongst extraordinary rocks and formations. Spend the morning on the Sevilla Rock Art Trail. You visit ten sites with some of the finest rock art in the district.

After an alfresco lunch you continue to Oudrif Lodge on the banks of the Doring River for a personal tour to some delightful rock art sites. The greatest attraction of Oudrif has to be its complete isolation – it is literally located in the middle of nowhere. It is set against a landscape of pre-historic rock formations and boasts with 300 million year old fossils and superb rock art sites amongst indigenous fynbos. In keeping with Oudrif’s conservation philosophy, straw bale building blocks were used for all construction.

Day 3 - Wupperthal Mission and Bushmans Kloof

Today you drive to the mission village of Wupperthal, founded in the early 19th century and which remains quiet and seemingly untouched by the 20th century, through some unique scenery.

Visit the Moravian Church and also the shoe factory and shop.

En route back you visit Salmanslaagte rock art site traversing Rooibos tea lands to reach the site. Continue to the luxurious wilderness lodge of Bushmans Kloof.

Game-drives and walks bring guests close to the indigenous game.

Day 4 - Clanwilliam and Cape Town

The morning begins with a walk to see some of the many Khoi-San rock paintings. Bushmanskloof is home to over 125 rock art sites dating back some 10 000 years and boasts one of the world’s largest open-air art galleries. After a leisurely brunch you meander back to Clanwilliam where you have time to visit the art galleries and craft shops before heading back to Cape Town in the late afternoon.
