NIGHTS 1-3: MOREMI The world renowned Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve is one of the most spectacular and wild places to visit. From mighty herds of Elephant, numbering in their 100’s to Lions on the prowl, this is a wildlife haven that everyone needs to visit at least once in a life time Your days will be spent doing 4x4 Game Drives and Bush Walks. Most of the game driving will be done in a private concession bordering the Moremi Game Reserve and in the Kwai River area which is renowned for its excellent game viewing. You will also have the option of visiting the Okavango Delta region in Moremi. Destination: Moremi (2 hours drive from Maun)

Day 1: Moremi – The start of a Safari Adventure Your Guide will meet you at the Maun Airport from where you will depart for your Safari. Before departure you will have a last chance to do some shopping and sending e-mails. The drive is approximately two hours to the lodge and the first day will be spent relaxing at the Safari lodge. You will experience the first true sense of wilderness at night with all the night sounds and endless skies.
Day 2: Moremi – Kwai River Region The day will start bright and early with a good breakfast and after packing the car with all you camera equipment you will be off for a full day of game viewing and excitement. This is big game country and you may encounter elephant, lion and leopard amongst many other species of wildlife. Lunch will take the form of a picnic under one of the age old trees in the bush. In the afternoon we will explore the channels of the Okavango Delta and experience the spectacular beauty and rich birdlife of the Delta. By late afternoon we will head back to the lodge for and relaxing evening, chatting about the sights of the day and watching the moon trod across the night sky.
Day 3: Moremi - Wilderness Experience of a different kind Today will be a different sort of wilderness experience. After breakfast we will head out on foot to explore the surrounding areas of the lodge and spot many of the not so well known aspects of the Moremi wilderness region. Lunch will be at the lodge and after lunch we will depart for another short game drive. This evening we will go on a night game drive for a chance to spot some of the very elusive nocturnal animals.
NIGHTS 4+5: DECEPTION VALLEY CENTRAL KALAHARI The Central Kalahari Game Reserve is situated in the middle of Botswana and is one of the biggest game reserves on the African continent. This is home to many predators and chances are high to spot some of the big cats. Bird watching fans will also be in their element as there are many species of Bird of Prey. The region is relatively new on the safari circuits and not many visitors venture this way. The days are spent doing 4x4 game drives in a private concession bordering the Central Kalahari Game Reserve renowned for its Big Cat experiences, bird watching and a unique San (Bushman) Cultural experience. Destination: Central Kalahari (4 hours drive from Moremi)

Day 4: Deception Valley and the Central Kalahari We will depart soon after breakfast for our next destination, the Central Kalahari. On the way we will stop over in Maun for a bit of shopping and you will have the opportunity to catch up with your e-mail at one of the internet shops in town, or you could just relax. The drive is quite long and we will arrive at Haina Safari Lodge by late afternoon. At the lodge we will be welcomed by cold refreshments and friendly staff. You will have the option to go on a evening game drive or to just relax at the lodge for the rest of the day.
Day 5: Deception Valley a San (Bushman) Encounter This morning we will go out on an early morning Game drive, with brunch afterwards. The highlight for the day will be the afternoon activity – Bushman Interaction. The rest of the afternoon will be spent under the clear skies of the Kalahari and for the adventurous we will be doing a night game drive.
NIGHTS 6+7: MAKGADIKGADI PANS The Makgadikgadi Pans are indescribably vast. These ancient salt lake pans, stretch as far as the eye can see and are bordered with grasslands hosting herds of wildlife. The Pans, especially Soa Pans, serves as breeding grounds to millions of flamingo’s each year and you may have a chance to experience this spectacle (Seasonal and Weather Permitting). The Safari Camp is approximately 10km from Kubu Island where you will visit the Historical Ruins which was recently been declared as a world heritage site. Destination: Makgadikgadi Pans (6 hours from Haina Safari Lodge)
Highlights: Visit to Bain’s Baobab’s, Botswana Migration (Seasonal), a sleep out on the Pans, Flamingo Breeding Grounds (Seasonal). Additional option to go on bush walk or visit to the historical Kubu Island ruins. Accommodation: Serviced Fly Camp on the Pans (weather permitting, dome tents, open kitchen, ablution and showers) Makgadikgadi Safari Camp or Similar Meals: Breakfast, picnic Lunch & Dinner (you may assist guide with food preparation) Drinks: Local Beers and Soft Drinks Activities: 1 x Visit to Kubu Island 1 x Visit to Sowa Pans (Flamingo Breeding Grounds) 1 x Cattle Post Visit (Time permitting)
Day 6: The Makgadikgadi Pans The Makgadikgadi Region is vast and driving to our Safari camp is quite far. We will depart after breakfast and make our way to this magnificent and beautiful place. Along the way we will stop for a picnic lunch and some photo shoots if we see something interesting. The road can be very difficult to navigate during the wet season so we will make our way to camp as quickly as possible. The accommodation is completely different from what you would have experienced so far and we will sleep over in a Safari Camp with dome tents and a communal ablution facility. You will be amazed by the open space in this region and we will have sundowners on the edge of the expanses of Sowa Pans. Night time is truly an amazing experience and if the skies are clear this is one of the best places to visit for stargazing.
Day 7: The Makgadikgadi - Explore Kubu Island After breakfast we will do some exploring and take a drive to the historical site of Kubu Island. This area was recently declared a world heritage site and you can view the ruins of an age old trading post. There are also many photo opportunities at Kubu Island and of the many stunted Baobab trees of the site. Along the way we will have a chance to visit one of the cattle posts of the region and to interact with the locals. Lunch will be picnic style, before we visit the pans and explore the local nature on foot. Your guide will prepare a BBQ this evening as you sit mesmerized at the vastness of the skies and the pans.
NIGHTS 8+9: CHOBE The Chobe Game Reserve, home to some of the largest herds of Elephant on the planet. Chobe Game Reserve is any nature lovers dream, wildlife, birdlife and nature in abundance. One of the highlights in Chobe is the river or boat based game viewing where you get the chance to get up close to the wildlife. Chobe offers some spectacular photo opportunities and game viewing second to none. Destination: Chobe (4 hours drive from Kubu Island)

Day 8: Chobe, Home of the Elephant Today will be a long drive again as we depart for Chobe soon after breakfast. Along the way we will stop over at the crop fields of Pandamatenga for a picnic lunch before we head on to Chobe. On arrival we will check in at the lodge, freshen up and depart for the village of Kasane for some shopping and the internet.
Day 9: Chobe by Boat and 4x4 Today will be game viewing, but with a twist. After breakfast we will head for the waters of the mighty Chobe River and will spend the morning doing game viewing by boat. This is an experience of a lifetime because with the boat we have the chance to get really close to the animals. After the game viewing excitement we will head back to camp for lunch before we depart on another 4x4 game drive in the Chobe Reserve. The Chobe Reserve is home to more than 70 000 African Elephant and we may encounter big herds with more than 100 elephants at a time; a truly magnificent site. This is our last evening together so we will do a special farewell dinner. We will use this occasion to give people the opportunity to talk about their highlights of the safari and to exchange addresses and digital pictures.
DAY 10: THE DEPARTURE Always a sad day, but also a good day, because you may be heading back to family and friends to tell them of your great experience of Botswana and Africa.
