 Camp Okuti Camp Okuti is located in Moremi Wildlife Reserve in the northeastern part of the Okavango Delta, positioned under shade trees at the edge of the Xakanaxa lagoon. This ecosystem comprises shallow flood plains and papyrus lined waterways contrasting with dense riverine forest. It is a small and private camp catering for a maximum of 22 guests, accommodated in insect-proofed thatched chalets with en suite bathrooms. Each chalet faces west and overlooks one of the Delta’s most spectacular lagoons with stunning African sunsets. The staff and managers will take every care to ensure that all your needs and requirements are met during your stay. It has been providing servicews since 1956, so it has a well established history of providing Safaris. Camp Okuti offers a choice of two game viewing activities. Game drives in open safari vehicles where an abundance of large mammals can be found or powerboat excursions towards the upper delta, where, during breeding season, large concentrations of herons and storks may be seen at their nesting and breeding sites.The channels of this camp are sometimes more condusive to powerboat than Mokoro. The advantage of this, is that you can see more, cover a greater area.Traversing the Okovango Delta by boat, is a wonderful experience . The birdlife in this area, can be at prolific.... Power Source:Throughout Africa usual voltage is 220-240AC. An adapter will be necessary for appliances that run on 110-120AC. - Electricity is provided by generators which run from 6:00 - 9:30 a.m. and again from 5:00 - 10:30 p.m.
- Lighting is available 24 hours at each tent from batteries which are charged by the generator.
- Batteries brought by guests may be recharged in the tents (Charging is handled by the managers).
- Depending upon the electricity needed for camp operations, it may not be possible to recharge video cameras every day, but this will be at the discretion of the camp manager (be sure to bring a 3-prong, round-point adapter with you).
