On Botswana's far northern border lies the Kwando, Linyanti and Chobe river system forming a series of lakes, islands and floodplains. This area forms the Chobe National Park, famous for its large buffalo and elephant herds. In addition to a variety of predators, there is an abundance of wild game and bird life that decorate these beautiful waterways. The National Park is the best place in the world to see the majestic African elephant for it is home to the world’s largest elephant population. Game drives into the Chobe National Park depart three times daily. Alternatively, choose a full day’s game drive, including picnic lunch.
Accommodation at The Yawning Hippo is in lovely en-suite walk in Meru tents, set on the banks on the Chobe River.
It is part of a larger piece of property, nicely developed with gardens, trees, lawns, owned by some long time guides, who live on the property, so you obtain a personal experience of local folks.
